Theme Kit is a command line tool for shopify themes. It lets you download themes, upload themes, and sync your local development environment with your shopify store. Plus, it’s free and easy to use. I’ll just need to type the theme kit into my terminal window on my laptop and then hit enter.
You can also type theme kit upload in the terminal window and press enter if I want to publish changes I’ve made locally on my computer to the website on the web. If I ever want to change back from the theme that I’m currently using to another one, I can type the theme kit switch followed by the name of the new theme that I want to use.
Now all I have left is one last thing: typing sudo gem install guard-live reload-Shopify in order to install a live reload plugin which will automatically reload my browser whenever code has been changed. Now, when I make any changes to my HTML or CSS files on my computer they’ll be automatically updated to the site on the web.
So what did we learn? The ability to test our work across different browsers (Firefox, Chrome) at lightning speed is only one click away. And once we’re satisfied with how our website looks, simply push our work online and start getting orders! With this method, there are no deadlines to worry about because you can take as much time as you need without anyone looking over your shoulder waiting for the final product.
When customers come across your website, they won’t feel pressured to buy anything either because you’ve given them enough time and attention during their browsing experience to help them understand more about who you are and what kind of products or services you offer.
